care guide

Each Brave Pudding creation is a unique piece, crafted with soul and skill. To ensure it remains a loved and lasting staple in your wardrobe for years to come, we suggest treating it with the same care you would your favorite cashmere sweater. Mindful care, regular upkeep, and proper storage can go a long way in maintaining the beauty and lifespan of your shoes.

Possible irregularities are a result of the individual character of each Brave Pudding piece. We stand by our products and our quality but of course Brave Pudding is not responsible for natural wear.

Your satisfaction is our top priority. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please reach out to hello@bravepudding.com.

General Care Guidelines:

With normal use, most people find that a quick pass with a lint roller is more than sufficient to keep their shoes in good condition. However, for more in depth cleaning, approach it as you would a cashmere sweater, and for particular circumstances, follow the guidelines below.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN MY SHOES?

We do not recommend washing your shoes on a regular basis, nor does the product require it - remember they are shoes not socks.

However, if necessary to remove particular spots, for the best results we always recommend cleaning with a soft dry cloth and/or gently spot cleaning by hand with a mild detergent.

Do:

Hand Wash: To maintain the integrity of your shoes they should be hand washed. You can use a specialist cashmere washing liquid or non-biological detergent, as you would use on any cashmere item.

Avoid Soaking: Do not soak cashmere fibers. Your shoes should be spot cleaned only.

Avoid Rubbing: Rubbing and scrubbing can damage the cashmere fibers.

Dry Flat: Lay flat to dry, away from direct heat or sunlight.

Do Not:

Do not hang them to dry.

Do not put them in the dryer.

Do not iron.

Do not dry clean.

Do not machine wash.

WHAT SHOULD I USE TO CLEAN MY SHOES?

If refreshing, bush with a soft, dry cloth, and/or a quick pass with a lint roller should be sufficient.

Should you need to spot clean, use a specialist cashmere washing liquid or a non-biological detergent and gently spot clean by hand with cool water (under 40 degrees).

Avoid using fabric softener on your high-quality items, as it can leave a coating that may damage the fibers over time.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I STAIN MY SHOES?

If your shoes get stained, as always it's best to act quickly to prevent the stain from setting. Gently blot the stain with a clean, damp cloth; avoiding rubbing or scrubbing, which can spread the stain further. Use a mild detergent if needed. Let it air dry. For stubborn stains, consult a professional cleaner for advice on how to remove the specific type of stain without damaging the material.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY SHOES GET WET?

If your shoes happen to get wet or you get caught in the rain, no worries! While not intended for aquatic use, a little water should not irreparably damage the shoes. It's best to let them dry naturally as soon as you can. Do not ring out, gently blot with a cloth to remove any excess water if necessary. Lay flat to dry, away from direct heat or sunlight. Do not hang them to dry. Do not put them in the dryer.

WHAT ARE TIPS FOR MAINTAINING MY SHOES?

From time to time, particularly for darker colors, we recommend using a lint roller to refresh your shoes.

HOW SHOULD I STORE MY SHOES?

For best care, keep them in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight,

We recommend storing your Brave Pudding shoes in the dust bag they come with. The dust bag is also great to use while traveling to protect your shoes.
